Initially 5-60 mL daily. Adult 6-50 mg daily in divided doses or as single dose on alternate days. Long-term therapy Not >7 mg daily. Short-term treatment in childn Not >2 wk.

Contraindications
Osteoporosis, active ulcer, psychoses or severe psychoneuroses, systematic fungal infections, acute infections unless effective, specific concurrent chemotherapy can be administered. Patients should not
undergo immunisations. TB, except as adjunctive treatment w/ tuberculostatic drugs.
