Timolol maleate
Indications/Uses
Reduction of elevated IOP in cases of patients w/ ocular HTN, open-angle glaucoma, aphakic eye & secondary glaucoma.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Contraindications
History of hypersensitivity; asthma, severe COPD; overt cardiac failure & shock, 2nd & 3rd degree AV block, sinus bradycardia.
Special Precautions
Hypersensitivity to ophth or systemic β-adrenergic blocking agent. Regularly check for eye pressure during therapy. Pregnancy & lactation. Infants.
Adverse Reactions
Redness of eyes or inside of eyelids, blurred vision or other change in vision, eye pain, droopy upper eyelid. Bradycardia, hypotension, troubled breathing, nausea or vomiting, unusual tiredness or weakness.
Drug Interactions
Additive effects w/ oral Ca-channel blockers or oral β-adrenergic blockers.
