For pregnancy, although adequate and well-controlled studies in humans have not been done, timolol may be absorbed systemically. For lactation, timolol may be absorbed systemically and distributed into the breast milk, possibly causing serious adverse effects in the infants of nursing mothers. So, risk-benefit should be considered.
