Cushing syndrome, gastro-intestinal ulcers, systemic fungal infections, herpes virus infections. Do not administer in pregnancy. Caution should be exercised in patients with tuberculosis, diabetes mellitus, osteoporosis, mental changes, cardiomyopathy, hypertension, renal insufficiency.
Avoid vaccination with small-pox if on dexamethasone treatment. Prolonged administration of Dexamed may produce the usual corticosteroid adverse reactions (peptic ulcer, hypokalaemia, infections, CNS effects e.t.c.).
