Meclozine HCl 25 mg, pyridoxine HCl 50 mg
Indications/Uses
Prevention & treatment of nausea, vomiting or vertigo associated w/ motion sickness & other vestibular disorders.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Motion sickness Adult 1-2 tab once daily 1 hr before traveling or exposure to motion, may be repeated every 24 hr if necessary. Childn 6-12 yr ½-1 tab once daily 1 hr before traveling or exposure to motion. Vertigo & vestibular disorders Adult 1-4 tab daily in divided doses.
Administration
May be taken with or without food: May be taken w/ food to reduce GI discomfort.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to meclozine or pyridoxine.
Special Precautions
Asthma, angle-closure glaucoma, prostatic hypertrophy. Long-term & large-dose use. Avoid alcoholic drinks. May affect ability to drive or operate machinery. Pregnancy. Not recommended during lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Drowsiness, dry mouth, headache, GI disturbances.
Drug Interactions
Additive antimuscarinic action of atropine, TCAs, MAOIs. Increased effects of antidepressants, alcohol, antihistamines, sedatives, pain relievers, anxiety medicines, muscle relaxants. Additive CNS depression w/ barbiturates, tranquilizers, alcohol. Reduced l-dopa effects. Reduced altretamine activity. Decreased phenobarb & phenytoin serum conc. Increased pyridoxine requirements w/ hydralazine, INH, penicillamine, OCs.
