Baloxavir marboxil
Indications/Uses
Flu in patients ≥12 yr who have been symptomatic for no >48 hr, & at high risk of developing flu complications.
Dosage/Direction for Use
A single dose should be initiated w/in 48 hr of symptom onset. Adult & adolescent ≥12 yr weighing ≥80 kg 80 mg, 40 to <80 kg 40 mg.
Administration
May be taken with or without food: Do not take w/ dairy products, Ca-fortified beverages, laxatives, antacids, or oral supplements containing Fe, Zn, Se, Ca or Mg.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Renal & severe hepatic impairment. Pregnancy & lactation. Ped patients <12 yr.
Drug Interactions
Plasma conc may be decreased by polyvalent-cation containing laxatives or antacids, or oral supplements containing Fe, Zn, selenium, Ca, Mg.
