Exclude potentially serious neurological conditions (eg, CVA, transient ischaemic attack) if patient presents w/ atypical symptoms. Not indicated for use in management of hemiplegic, basilar or ophthalmoplegic migraine. Patients w/ history of seizure disorders or conditions associated w/ lowered seizure threshold. Perform CV evaluation prior to initiation of therapy in patients w/ multiple CV risk factors (eg, postmenopausal women; men >40 yr; w/ risk factor eg, HTN, hypercholesterolemia, obesity, diabetes, smoking, or family history of CAD) who have not previously received therapy w/ 5-HT
1 receptor agonist. May affect ability to drive & operate machinery. Patients w/ diseases altering drug absorption, metabolism, or excretion eg, impaired renal/hepatic function. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn & adolescents <18 yr. Not recommended in elderly >65 yr.
