Lansoprazole
Indications/Uses
Gastric & duodenal ulcer. Acute stress ulcer & gastric mucosal lesion accompanied by bleeding.
Dosage/Direction for Use
IV inj or drip Adult 1 vial mixed w/ isotonic NaCl solution (NSS) or 5% dextrose in water (D5W) bid.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Concomitant use w/ atazanavir sulfate or rilpivirine HCl.
Special Precautions
Hypersensitivity. Not to be administered aimlessly for long period. Increased risk of Clostridium-difficile-associated disease (CDAD), especially in hospitalized patients; developing certain infections eg, community-acquired pneumonia; osteoporosis-related fractures of hip, wrist or spine w/ high-dose &/or prolonged period of time ie, ≥1 yr. Projectile & oozing bleeding or at risk for rapid bleeding eg, presence of exposed blood vessels; visual disturbance; persistent diarrhea. Symptomatic & asymptomatic hypomagnesemia in patients receiving long-term therapy (at least 3 mth, most case >1 yr of therapy). May mask symptoms of gastric cancer. Closely observe course of disease & use min therapeutic necessity according to disease condition. Switch to another treatment if the drug is ineffective. Severe hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh class C). Hepatic disorders. Women of childbearing potential. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Dizziness, headache; abnormal albumin-globulin ratio, albuminuria, decreased serum cholesterol, hyperlipidemia, increased γ-glutamyl transferase, gastrin, lactate dehydrogenase, serum glucocorticoids, & serum K; abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, nausea, occult blood in stools; crystalluria, hematuria; abnormal erythrocytes & platelets, leukocyte disorder, leukocytosis; abnormal hepatic function tests, hyperbilirubinemia, increased serum alkaline phosphatase, ALT, AST, globulins & creatinine, acute interstitial nephritis, BUN; cutaneous lupus erythematous, SJS, SLE, TEN.
Drug Interactions
Decreased blood conc of atazanavir, rilpivirine, theophylline, itraconazole & gefitinib. Increased blood conc of tacrolimus, digoxin/methyldigoxin & MTX.
