Each tablet contains: Lynestrenol 0.5 mg.
It contains no estrogenic substance and must be taken daily even during menstrual period. While it is being taken normal menstruation goes on as usual. The use of oral contraceptive is a reliable method for the prevention of pregnancy.
Wait until the next menstrual period. On the day on which bleeding starts, take the first tablet.
The patient should take one tablet marked with that day of the week from the top row. The patient continues to take one tablet a day following the direction indicated by the arrows.
When a pack is empty, the patient begins the next day-thus without interruption and without waiting for the next menstrual period.
The patient should always take one tablet at the same time every day. It is best to do so about the time of the evening meal.
When the patient has forgotten to take a tablet: As soon as the patient notices that she has forgotten to take even a single tablet she must take one immediately. Naturally, the patient should then continue to take the daily tablet in the normal way.
1. Consult the physician if abnormal sign occurs.
2. This medication is contraindicated with intravascular clot or liver disease.
1. If the menstrual period is more than one month overdue, then the patient must consult the doctor.
2. The reliability may also be reduced if, during the use of Dailyton, severe gastro-intestinal disorders such as diarrhea or vomiting occur.
Pregnancy: Dailyton should not be used during pregnancy. If a pregnancy occurs, Dailyton treatment should be stopped immediately.
Animal studies have shown that very high doses of progestogenic substances may cause masculinization of female foetuses.
Extensive epidemiological studies have revealed neither an increased risk of birth defects in children from women who used OCs prior to pregnancy, nor a teratogenic effect when OCs were taken inadvertently during early pregnancy. Although this probably also applies to all OCs, it is not clear whether this is also the case for Dailyton.
Lactation: Dailyton does not influence the production or the quality of breast milk. However, a small amount of progestogen is excreted with the milk. The amount of lynestrenol and metabolites excreted in the milk is about 0.14% of the daily administered dose, but no adverse effects on infant growth and development have been reported. Nevertheless development and growth of the child should be closely monitored. Based on the data available, Dailyton can be prescribed for lactating women.
1. Just as the patient should continue to take the daily tablet during her normal menstrual period, she should also continue to take the daily tablet even if she experiences an irregular bleeding.
2. In 2-3 months period of use the patient may experience some nausea, headache or swelling and painfulness of the breasts. These symptoms usually disappear rapidly; if not, the patient should consult the doctor.
