This formula is contraindicated in patients exhibiting hypersensitivity to any of the components. Anti-histamines are contraindicated in patients receiving mono-amine oxidase inhibitors since these agents prolong and intensify the anti-cholinergic effects of anti-histamines. Anti-histamines should not be used to treat lower respiratory tract symptoms. It is contraindicated in patients with severe hypertension, severe coronary artery disease and in patients' receiving MAO inhibitor therapy due to potentiation of the pressor effects of phenylpropanolamine.
It is also contraindicated in asthmatic patients as it causes the release of histamine.
