Indications/Uses
Pain in OA of the knee in patients failed to respond adequately to conservative non-pharmacologic therapy or simple analgesics (eg, acetaminophen).
Dosage/Direction for Use
Inj into the knee joint & administer as a 2 IA inj regimen. Administer the 2nd inj in a wk after the 1st inj.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to hyaluronate prep or gm +ve bacterial proteins. Infections or skin diseases in the area of inj site or joint.
Special Precautions
Remove joint effusion before injecting. Transient pain or swelling may occur after IA inj. Avoid strenuous or prolonged physical activities w/in 48 hr following IA inj. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn ≤21 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Infection; arthralgia; arthrosis; joint (knee) disorder, swelling, effusion, stiffness; pain in limb; tendonitis; paraesthesia; phlebitis; pruritus; inj site erythema, edema, pain & reaction; arthropathy; Baker's cyst; bursitis; localized & aggravated OA; immune response. Rash, headache, dizziness, chills, hives, nausea, muscle cramps, peripheral edema & malaise.
