Indications/Uses
Treatment of dyspepsia caused by: In adults: Chronic gastritis, gastric ptosis, reflux esophagitis, gastrectomy syndrome, use of anti-malignant tumor drugs of L-dopa. In childn: Periodic vomiting, use of anti-malignant tumor drugs.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 1-2 tab (½-1 tab in patients receiving L-dopa) tds. Childn 1-2 mg/kg/day in 3 divided doses. Max: 30 mg/day. Doses >30 mg/day should be used w/ caution due to potential risk of arrhythmias associated w/ the higher doses. Childn <3 yr Not recommended for repeated use >7 days.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take 15-30 min before meals.
Contraindications
GI haemorrhage, mechanical obstruction or perforation; prolactin adenoma.
Special Precautions
Patients w/ liver injury; severe renal impairment (repeated administration). Increased risk of serious ventricular arrhythmias or sudden cardiac death (especially in elderly >60 yr or at daily doses >30 mg. Concomitant use w/ other drugs that prolong QTc interval in patients w/ existing prolongation of cardiac conduction intervals (particularly QTc), w/ significant electrolyte disturbances or underlying cardiac disease eg, CHF. Chronic or long-term therapy. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn (especially in infants <1 yr).
Adverse Reactions
Stimulation of mammary gland & delayed sexual cycle; elevated serum prolactin, gynaecomastia, breast enlargement, galactorrhea; acute extrapyramidal dystonic reactions; GI disturbances; ventricular arrhythmias & sudden cardiac death; allergic reactions (eg, urticaria & eruption); adverse central effects (in patients w/ premature or impaired blood-brain barrier).
Drug Interactions
Phenothiazines, butyrophenones & rauwolfia alkaloids; digitalis prep; anticholinergics; slow-releasing or EC prep; dopamine agonist (eg, bromocriptine, L-dopa); antacids or acid-secretion inhibitors; antimuscarinics & opioid analgesics.

Exemptions granted for limited sale and supply without prescription:
As an oral solid preparation containing not more than 10 mg, or an oral liquid preparation containing not more than 1 mg/mL
Indication: Relief of postprandial symptoms of excessive fullness, nausea, epigastric bloating and belching occasionally accompanied by epigastric discomfort and heartburn
Maximum daily dose: 30 mg
Maximum supply: 14 days
Minimum age: 12 years
