200 mg Adult & adolescent >14 yr 1 tab bid-tid. Childn & adolescent 6-14 yr 1 tab bid. Childn 2-5 yr ½ tab bid-tid. 600 mg Adult & adolescent >14 yr ½ tab bid or 1 tab once daily. Duration of use: Not >4-5 days.
May cause dangerous secretory congestion w/ antitussives. Do not mix w/ antibiotics & administer at an interval of at least 2 hr. May potentiate vasodilatory effects of nitroglycerin. Reduced effectiveness w/ activated carbon in high doses. May affect colorimetric determination of salicylates & determination results of ketone bodies.
