Advise physician what prescription and nonprescription drugs the patient is taking especially digoxin, etidronate, phenytoin, tetracycline and vitamins.
Do not take calcium within 1-2 hrs of taking other medicines especially some antibiotics. Calcium may decrease the effectiveness of same antibiotics (eg, tetracyclines).
