Contents
Acetylcysteine 300 mg, ambroxol HCl 60 mg
Indications/Uses
All forms of tracheobronchitis, emphysema w/ bronchitis pneumoconiosis, chronic inflammatory pulmonary conditions, bronchiectasis, bronchitis w/ bronchospasm asthma. Resp tract disorders associated w/ increased or viscous mucus. Reduces mucus & helps w/ breathing in various lung conditions eg, cystic fibrosis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Patients w/ cystic fibrosis. Do not co-administer w/ antibiotics. Caution in asthmatic patients, history of bronchospasm & peptic ulceration, epileptic patients & patients at risk of convulsions. Do not use before bedtime. Potential for severe skin lesions eg, Stevens-Johnson syndrome & toxic epidermal necrolysis. Moderate or severe renal impairment.
Adverse Reactions
Nausea, vomiting, & diarrhea or constipation. Rashes, fever, headache, drowsiness, low BP, & liver problems.
Drug Interactions
Increase conc in the lung tissue w/ concomitant use of antibiotics (amoxicillin, cefuroxime, erythromycin, doxycycline). May inhibit cough reflex in concomitant use w/ antitussive agents (eg, codeine). Increased effects of nitroglycerin. Interacts w/ activated charcoal.
