Levodropropizine
Indications/Uses
Symptomatic treatment of cough in adults & childn >12 yr.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & childn >12 yr 10 mL up to 3 times daily at least 6 hrly. Treatment duration: Max: 7 days.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Excessive mucus discharge; limited mucociliary function (eg, Kartagener's syndrome, ciliary dyskinesia); bronchorrhoea. Severe hepatic impairment. Pregnancy & lactation.
Special Precautions
Diabetic patients. Should only be used for short-term (max: 14 days). May affect ability to drive or use machines. Serious renal insufficiency. Childn <24 mth. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Nausea, vomiting, heartburn, abdominal discomfort, diarrhea; exhaustion, faintness, somnolence, clouding of consciousness, numbness, dizziness, headache; palpitations; hypersensitivity reactions.
Drug Interactions
Concomitant use w/ sedatives in sensitive individuals.
