Zn sulfate monohydrate
Indications/Uses
Adjuvant therapy for diarrhea in childn <5 yr.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Dispersible tab Childn 6 mth-5 yr 1 dispersible tab daily for 10 days consecutively. Infant 2-6 mth ½ dispersible tab daily for 10 days consecutively. Tab should be dispersed in warm water or breast milk. Syr Childn 6 mth-5 yr 10 mL daily for 10 days consecutively. Infant 2-6 mth 5 mL daily for 10 days consecutively. Drops Childn 6 mth-5 yr 2 mL daily for 10 days consecutively. Infant 2-6 mth 1 mL daily for 10 days consecutively.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Oral Zn toxicity may occur in adults due to excessive Zn intake (>150 mg daily). High doses of Zn over a long period may cause a decrease in plasma lipoprotein & Cu absorption.
Adverse Reactions
Nausea, bitter taste, vomiting, irritation of oral cavity.
