Prilocaine and Lidocaine prevent initiation and conduction of nerve impulses and reduce neuronal membrane permeability there by producing local anesthesia. Prilocaine and Lidocaine are absorbed through the skin and diminish responses on pain receptors there by preventing the patient from feeling any pain when clinical procedures are performed.
