Doxicor Dosage/Direction for Use

Adult and children 8 years with body weight > 45 kg: 200mg on the first day of treatment, administered as a single dose or as 100 mg twice daily followed by maintenance dose of 100 mg/day administered as a single dose or as 50 mg twice daily. In the management of more severe infections, particularly chronic infections of the urinary tract, a dosage of 200 mg daily may be given.
Children 8 years with body weight < 45 kg: 4.4 mg/kg of body weight daily divided into2 doses on the first day of treatment, followed by 2.2 mg/kg of body weight daily on subsequent days. For more severe infections, a dosage of 2.2 mg/kg of body weight every 12 hours should be given.
Uncomplicated gonococcal infections (expect anorectal infections in men), uncomplicated urethral, endocervical or rectal infections, non gonococcal urethritis: 100 mg twice daily for 7 days.
Primary and secondary syphilis: 300 mg daily in divided doses for 10 days. Therapy should be continued at least 24-48 hours atier symptoms and fever have subsided.
