Mg trisilicate 325 mg, dried Al hydroxide gel 325 mg, chlordiazepoxide HCl 5 mg
Indications/Uses
Hyperacidity due to or during stress.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take between meals.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Chlordiazepoxide potentially increased risk of congenital abnormalities. Not to be given in people w/ severe kidney dysfunction which may cause hypermagnesemia. Not recommended during pregnancy.
Special Precautions
Amnesia, increased degree of grand mal epilepsy, organic brain disease, cardiopulmonary insufficiency, liver & renal function decline, COPD. Cimetidine or tetracycline antibiotics should be consumed w/in 1-2 hr interval. Patients w/ low P diet & long-term use; chronic pulmonary insufficiency, liver, chronic renal disease & personality disorders. Do not drive or use machines during treatment. Renal impairment in long term use. Not recommended for childn <6 yr. May increase chlordiazepoxide toxicity in elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Risk of developing tolerance, dependence & addiction w/ long-term use. W/drawal symptoms including insomnia, anxiety, dysphoria, irritability.
Drug Interactions
May disturb the dissolution & solubility of weak base or acid drugs (eg, tetracycline, quinolones). Concomitant use w/ CYP inhibitor including cimetidine will increase chlordiazepoxide & drug levels in blood.
