For external use only. Discontinue therapy if irritation develops; in the presence of skin infections. W/draw, reduce frequency of application or substitute less potent steroid if HPA axis suppression is noted. Not to use bandage, cover or wrap as to be occlusive. Avoid contact w/ eyes. Cushing syndrome, hyperglycemia & glucosuria. Periodically evaluate for HPA axis suppression evidence using urinary-free cortisol & corticotropin stimulation tests. Conditions that augments systemic absorption including application of more potent steroids, use over large surface areas, prolonged use, & addition of occlusive dressings. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn: Not to use tight-fitting diapers or plastic pants if treated in the diaper area. Adrenal suppression includes, linear growth retardation, delayed wt gain, low plasma cortisol levels & absence of corticotropin stimulation response; intracranial HTN includes bulging fontanelles, headaches & bilateral papilledema. May interfere growth & development w/ chronic use. Limit administration to the least amount compatible w/ effective therapeutic regimen. Childn <10 yr.
