Pregnancy: Triamcinolone crosses the placenta. Fetal risk may occur when used during pregnancy. Use in the 1st trimester has a small absolute risk of oral clefts. Continuous use during pregnancy has also caused fetal growth restriction. The product should be used during pregnancy only if the benefit to the mother is clearly greater than the risk to the fetus.
Lactation: Triamcinolone appears in breast milk. When used systemically, maternal use of Triamcinolone has the potential to cause adverse events in breast-feeding infants (e.g., growth suppression, interfere with endogenous corticosteroid production); therefore, caution should be used if administered to a breast-feeding woman.
