Betahistine diHCl
Indications/Uses
Symptomatic relief of vestibular vertigo & dizziness. Vertigo (dizziness w/ nausea/vomiting), hearing loss (hardness of hearing), tinnitus associated w/ Meniere's syndrome.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 16 mg tab ½ to 1 tab tid. 24 mg tab 48 mg divided over the day (1 tab bid).
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Phaeochromocytoma.
Special Precautions
Bronchial asthma; history of peptic ulcer. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn <18 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Drug Interactions
Metabolism may be inhibited by MAOIs (including MAO-B selective). Efficacy may be affected w/ antihistamines.
