Indications/Uses
Prevention of chemotherapy & RT induced nausea & vomiting; post-op nausea & vomiting.
Dosage/Direction for Use
IV Prevention of chemotherapy & RT-induced nausea & vomiting Adult & ped patient ≥6 mth 0.15 mg/kg as a 15-min infusion beginning 30 min prior to chemotherapy, repeated twice at 4-hr interval following initial dose. Alternatively, 32 mg as a 15-min infusion beginning 30 min prior to chemotherapy. Prevention of post-op nausea & vomiting Adult 4 mg given as a single dose in not <30 sec, preferably over 2-5 min prior to induction of anesth or post-op. Childn 1 mth to 12 yr >40 kg 4 mg given as a single dose over 2-5 min; ≤40 kg 0.1 mg/kg given as a single dose over 2-5 min. Severe hepatic impairment Max daily dose: 8 mg.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Discontinue at 1st sign of rash or any sign of hypersensitivity. Moderate or severe liver impairment. Not to be used during pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Headache; diarrhea, constipation.
