Per 137.155 g Macrogol 4000 118 g, KCl 1.485 g, NaCl 2.93 g, Na bicarbonate 3.37 g, anhydrous Na sulfate 11.37 g
Indications/Uses
Elimination of intestinal contents during pretreatment for colonoscopy & large bowel operation.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Orally administer 2-4 L of the soln at a rate of 1 L/hr. Discontinue dosing at the time excretion liqd becomes clear.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Dissolve contents of 1 full bag in water to make 2 L of soln.
Contraindications
GUT obstruction, intestinal perforation, toxic megacolon.
Special Precautions
Angina pectoris, history of MI. Renal impairment. Constipation. Avoid administration in a short period of time & addition of any other ingredient or flavor. Patients taking insulin or oral hypoglycemic agents. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Vomiting, feeling of enlarged abdomen, retching, feeling cold, nausea, changes in lab findings, abdominal pain, malaise, dizziness, headache, sleep loss. Shock, anaphylactoid symptoms, intestinal perforation, hyponatremia.
Drug Interactions
Disturbs absorption of orally administered drugs.
