Tramadol HCl
Indications/Uses
Moderate to severe acute or chronic pain & in painful diagnostic or therapeutic measures.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & adolescent >14 yr 1 cap. May take further doses after 30-60 min if pain relief is unsatisfactory. Max: Not to exceed 8 cap daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Acute intoxication to alcohol, hypnotics, analgesics or other CNS-acting drugs.
Special Precautions
Not to be used for minor pain. Longer than therapeutically necessary; in patients receiving MAOIs. Resp depression w/ excessive dose. Carefully monitor patients known to suffer from convulsions. Patients w/ increased reactivity to opioids. Possible dependence during long-term treatment. Concomitant use w/ other centrally depressant drugs. May affect ability to drive or operate machines. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Sweating, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, & fatigue.
Drug Interactions
Intensified sedative effect w/ tranquilizers, hypnotics.
