Indications/Uses
Infections caused by susceptible organisms & Staph infections, including penicillin-resistant strains.
Dosage/Direction for Use
IM/IV 250-500 mg 4-6 hrly.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to penicillins.
Special Precautions
Hypersensitivity to cephalosporins. Jaundiced neonates. Renal impairment. Avoid subconjunctival inj or use in eye drops.
Adverse Reactions
Allergic reactions, GI disturbances, glossitis, stomatitis, black 'hairy' tongue, blood disorders, anaphylaxis.
Drug Interactions
Impaired renal excretion w/ probenecid. Decreases anticoagulant effect.
