Each ml of Glauco-Oph Eye Drops contains Timolol maleate 2.5 mg and 5.0 mg (0.25% and 0.50%).
Timolol maleate is a β-adrenergic receptor blocking agent. It reduces elevated and normal intraocular pressure by reducing aqueous humor production and slight increase in outflow facility.
Timolol maleate has less severe side effects than either pilocarpine or epinephrine. It has little or no effect on accomodation or pupil size.
For the reduction of elevated intraocular pressure in patients with ocular hypertension, chronic open angle glaucoma, aphakia glaucoma, secondary glaucoma.
0.25% 1 drops twice a day. If the clinical response is not adequate, the dosage may be changed to 0.50% of Glauco-Oph Eye Drops.
0.50% 1 drops twice a day. If the intraocular pressure is maintained at normal levels, can be placed on once a day therapy.
Bronchial asthma or a history of asthma, severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, bradycardia, heart block, cardiogenic shock, hypersensitivity to any component of Glauco-Oph Eye Drops.
Do not let the dropping nozzle (tip) contact with anything eg. fingers, eyeball, eyelash, eyelids, etc., as the germs may be contaminated the content. Always replace the cap immediately after use.
Do not use longer than 1 month after first opening.
Cardiovascular and respiratory adverse effects, patient with a history of asthma, congestive heart failure, or bradycardia appear to be at a higher risk.
Remove soft contact lens prior to administration reinsert after 15 min.
β-blockers, Oral Ca-entry blocker & catecholamine depleting drugs.
