Fexofenadine
Indications/Uses
Relief of symptoms associated w/ seasonal allergic rhinitis & chronic idiopathic urticaria.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & childn ≥12 yr 1 tab bid. Renal impairment 1 tab once daily. Childn 6-11 yr ½ tab bid. Renal impairment ½ tab once daily.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Do not take w/ fruit juice.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Cardiac arrhythmia. Renal impairment. Concomitant use w/ erythromycin & ketoconazole. May affect ability to drive or operate machinery. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Drowsiness, cold flu, nausea, dysmenorrhea, dyspepsia, fatigue, back pain, headache, coughing, URTI.
Drug Interactions
Increased plasma levels w/ ketoconazole & erythromycin. Decreased AUC & Cmax w/ antacids.
