IMAdult from 16 yr 1 mL at 0, 1, 6 mth. Neonate, infant & childn ≤15 yr 0.5 mL at 0, 1, 6 mth. Neonate born from hepatitis B-infected mother, patient who has or might have been recently exposed to the virus, traveler to high-risk areas Alternative schedule at 0, 1 & 2 mth & 12-mth booster.
Rare anaphylactic reactions. Sensitization reactions due to thimerosal. Not to be administered in gluteal region & intravenously. Postpone administration in patients w/ acute severe febrile illness. Patients w/ multiple sclerosis; in latent or progressive state of hepatitis B. Pregnancy & lactation.
