Equine anti-rabies Ig
Indications/Uses
Passive immunization against rabies. Prevention of rabies in patients at risk of being exposed to rabies after contact w/ a rabid/presumed to be rabid animal. Use in conjunction w/ rabies vaccine.
Dosage/Direction for Use
SC/IM 40 IU/kg. As much as possible, infiltrate the dose around the wounds. The remainder should be administered in single dose.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Perform skin test before administration is recommended. Do not administer antiserum in the same syringe as the vaccine.
Adverse Reactions
Anaphylactoid reactions, hypotension, dyspnea, urticaria. Delayed reactions eg, inflammatory reaction, fever, pruritis, rash or urticaria, adenopathy & arthralgia.
