Epilepsy, history of convulsions, predisposing factors for epilepsy. Concomitant use w/ N-methyl-D-aspartate-antagonists (eg, amantadine, ketamine or dextromethorphan). Careful monitoring of patients w/ factors that may raise urine pH (eg, drastic changes in diet, or massive ingestion of alkalising gastric buffers). Recent MI, uncompensated CHF (NYHA III-IV), uncontrolled HTN. Minor to moderate influence on the ability to drive and use machines. Pregnancy & lactation. Oral soln: Rare hereditary problems of fructose intolerance.
