Indications/Uses
Active booster immunization against tetanus, diphtheria & pertussis in individuals from the age of ≥3 yr. For pertussis immunization in healthcare providers to prevent nosocomial transmission to infants & for maternal immunization in pregnant women for pertussis prevention in infants too young to be vaccinated.
Do not inj intravascularly. Do not give fractional doses (<0.5 mL). Postpone vaccination in patients w/ acute severe febrile illness, & immunosuppressive treatment or immunodeficiency; in case of chronic immunodeficiency, including HIV-infected persons, vaccination is recommended even if response may be limited. Caution in patients who had any of the following adverse events w/in 48 hr after a previous immunization w/ any whooping cough vaccines: High temp (≥40°C) w/o any identifiable cause, convulsions, collapse, shock-like state; thrombocytopenia or any bleeding disorder or receiving anticoagulant therapy.
