Purified HBsAg (Per 0.5 mL: Al hydroxide gel 0.25 mg, thiomersal 0.025 mg. Per mL: Al hydroxide gel 0.50 mg, thiomersal 0.050 mg)
Indications/Uses
Active immunization against hepatitis B & its common sub-types.
Dosage/Direction for Use
IM Adult & childn >10 yr 20 mcg/dose. 3 doses at 0, 1 & 6 mth. Neonates, infant & childn <10 yr 10 mcg/dose. 3 doses at 0, 1 & 6 mth. Preterm infants <2 kg 4 doses at 0, 6, 10 & 14 wk. Ped Infectious Diseases Society of Thailand (PIDST) Recommended schedule of 3 doses at 0, 1, 2 & 6 mth.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Severe febrile illness.
Special Precautions
Not to be administered in the gluteal region, intradermally or IV. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Soreness at the inj site or febrile reaction. Dizziness, headache, nausea, abdominal pain, rash, pruritus, urticaria, arthralgia, myalgias.
