Aluminum hydroxide, magnesium trisilicate, simethicone.
Description
Each tablet contains: Aluminium hydroxide 250 mg, Magnesium trisilicate 250 mg, Simethicone 30 mg.
Action
The combinations of two antacids effectively neutralizes the acid and provides consistently dependable relief of symptoms associated with gastric hyperacidity. Simethicone is antiflatulent. It alleviates the symptoms of gas, air foam from the gastro-intestinal tract.
Indications/Uses
It is indicated in the relief of the symptoms of peptic ulcer and other problems related to acid hypersecretion.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Recommended dosage, dosage schedule and route of administration: Oral administration.
One tablet to be chewed before swallowing and may be repeated in accordance with patients' needs.
Overdosage
Symptoms and treatment for overdosage: Symptoms are as mentioned in Adverse Reactions. Hypermagnesemia may be corrected by the intravenous injection of 10 to 20ml of 10% Calcium Gluconate Injection. Dialysis and correction of fluid deficit may be of value.
Contraindications
It is contra-indicated in patients receiving an antibiotic containing any form of tetracycline.
Special Precautions
Magnesium trisilicate in the presence of renal insufficiency may cause central nervous system depression and other symptoms of hypermagnesemia. This product should not be administered to patients receiving a prescription antibiotic containing any form of tetracycline. Its interference in the absorption of other drugs should be considered. Sodium citrate and tartrate inhibits the neutralization of gastric acid by dried aluminium hydroxide gel. The effect of aluminium hydroxide on phosphate should always be carefully considered.
Use In Pregnancy & Lactation

Adverse Reactions
Aluminium hydroxide: Constipation, nausea, vomiting are the common side effects. Large doses can cause intestinal obstruction. Excessive doses or even normal doses in patients with low phosphate diets, may lead to phosphate depletion accompanied by increased resorption and urinary excretion of calcium with risk of renal rickets in the young or osteomalacia in older patients.
Magnesium trisilicate: Magnesium trisilicate may cause diarrhoea, mucosal irritation and absorption of magnesium may occur if there is gastro-intestinal atony or obstruction. After excessive use and especially in excessive use, hypermagnesemia may result. The symptoms are flushing of the skin, thirst, hypotension due to vasodilatation, drowsiness, loss of tendon reflexes due to neuromuscular blockade, weakness, respiratory depression, cardiac arrhythmias, coma and cardiac arrest.
Drug Interactions
Interactions with Other Medicaments: Do not use with patients taking a prescription antibiotic containing any form tetracycline. As with all aluminium-containing antacids, this product may prevent the proper absorption of the tetracycline.
Storage
Blister pack: Store at or below 30°C.
Bottle pack: Store at or below 25°C.
