Al hydroxide 250 mg, Mg trisilicate 250 mg, simethicone 30 mg
Indications/Uses
Symptomatic relief of peptic ulcer & other problems related to acid hypersecretion.
Dosage/Direction for Use
1 tab & may be repeated in accordance w/ patient's need.
Contraindications
Patients receiving antibiotic containing any form of tetracycline.
Special Precautions
Do not administer to patients receiving antibiotic containing any form of tetracycline. Consider interference in the absorption of other drugs; Na citrate & tartrate inhibits the neutralization of gastric acid by dried Al hydroxide gel. Pregnancy & lactation. Mg trisilicate: Possible CNS depression & other symptoms of hypermagnesemia in presence of renal insufficiency.
Adverse Reactions
Al hydroxide: Constipation, nausea, vomiting, intestinal obstruction (large doses), phosphate depletion accompanied by increased resorption & urinary excretion of Ca w/ risk of renal rickets in the young or osteomalacia in older patients (excessive doses or in patients w/ low phosphate diets). Mg trisilicate: Diarrhoea, mucosal irritation & absorption of Mg, hypermagnesemia (excessive use).
Drug Interactions
May prevent proper tetracycline absorption.
