Indications/Uses
Relief of mild to moderate pain including post-op pain, postpartum pain & pain due to orthopaedic surgery. Primary dysmenorrhoea, musculoskeletal & soft tissue inflammation & acute gout.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Mild to moderate pain Initially 550 mg then 275 mg 6-8 hrly when necessary. Max: 1,375 mg/day. Musculoskeletal & soft tissue inflammation 275 mg bd. Acute gout Initially 825 mg then 275 mg 8 hrly until attack subsides.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Take immediately after meals.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Patients w/ asthma, rhinitis & urticaria. Acute peptic ulceration.
Adverse Reactions
Ocassional skin rashes & angioedema. Nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort, epigastric distress, headache, inability to concentrate, insomnia, tinnitus & vertigo. Bronchospasm; thrombocytopenia, granulocytopenia, jaundice, peptic ulceration, nephropathy, aplastic aneamia, haemolytic anaemia & hearing impairment.
Drug Interactions
May inhibit natriuretic effect of furosemide. Increased plasma conc of lithium. Hydantoins. Increased plasma levels w/ probenecid. May reduce antihypertensive effect of propranolol & other β-blockers.
