Indications/Uses
Diseases or conditions where modification of platelet function may be beneficial.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 300-600 mg daily in 3 or 4 doses. Childn 5 mg/kg/day in divided doses.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach.
Special Precautions
Patients w/ rapidly worsening angina, subvalvular aortic stenosis or haemodynamic instability associated w/ a recent sustained MI. Pregnancy (especially 1st trimester).
Adverse Reactions
Occasionally, vascular headache; dyspepsia. Rarely, mild diarrhoea.
Drug Interactions
Heparin, NSAIDs, coumarin or indandione-derivative anticoagulants, azlocillin, carbenicillin, cefamandole, cefoperazone, dextrans, mezlocillin, piperacillin, salicylates, sulfinpyrazone, valproic acid, streptokinase & urokinase.
