Indications/Uses
Human milk fortifier for premature, low-birth-wt infants.
Standard level of fortification: 1 g/25 mL of lukewarm human milk (35-40°C). Proceed gradually & start w/ 2 g/100 mL of human milk. Evaluate tolerance over a 24-hr period & fortify to full strength (4 g/100 mL of human milk).
Not suitable for infants w/ cow's milk protein allergy, lactose intolerance & metabolic congenital diseases (eg, galactosaemia/glucose-galactose malabsorption). Not a complete food. Not intended for parenteral use.
Contains milk & fish. Wash hands & sterilize feeding devices before preparing baby's feed. Only prepare 1 feed at a time. Feed immediately & follow instructions exactly. Incorrect dilution can make baby ill. Discard all unfinished quantities of fortified milk after each feed. For hospital use only, under medical supervision. Hold baby while feeding; leaving baby unattended may cause choking. Gradually defrost frozen human milk in refrigerator (<4°C); do not use microwave oven or leave at room temp to defrost. For tube feeding: Use w/in 4 hr once fortified human milk is prepared.
