Polarine

Per tab Dexchlorpheniramine maleate 2 mg, pseudoephedrine HCl 60 mg. Per 5 mL syr Dexchlorpheniramine maleate 2 mg, pseudoephedrine HCl 30 mg

Nasal & resp congestion, common cold, acute sinusitis & allergic rhinitis.

Tab Adult 1 tab tds. Syr Adult 1 tsp 6 hrly. Childn 6-12 yr ½ tsp 6 hrly.

May be taken with or without food.

Hypersensitivity. Not for the treatment of lower resp tract symptoms. Patients w/ severe HTN, CAD & those receiving MAOI therapy.

Patients w/ HTN, hyperthyroidism, DM, CV disease, narrow angle glaucoma, stenosing peptic ulcer, pyloroduodenal obstruction, symptomatic prostatic hypertrophy & bladder neck obstruction. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery.

Urticaria, drug rash, anaphylactic shock, photosensitivity, excessive perspiration, chills, dryness of mouth, nose & throat; hypotension, headache, palpitation, tachycardia extrasystoles; hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia, agranulocytosis; sedation, sleepiness, dizziness, disturbed coordination, fatigue, confusion, restlessness, excitation, nervousness, tremor, irritability, insomnia, euphoria, paresthesias, blurred vision, diplopia, vertigo, tinnitus, acute labyrinthitis, hysteria, neuritis, convulsions, CNS depression, hallucinations; epigastric distress, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, constipation; urinary frequency & retention, difficult urination; thickening of bronchial secretions, chest tightness, wheezing, nasal stuffiness.

Dexchlorpheniramine maleate: Prolonged & intensified anticholinergic effects w/ MAOI. Additive effects w/ alcohol & other CNS depressants.
