Indications/Uses
Treatment of lipid disorders eg, Fredrickson type IIA, IIB, III, IV, V; hyperlipidemia associated w/ diabetes; xanthomata associated w/ hyperlipidemias. Prevention of CHD.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult Recommended dose: 1,200 mg daily in 2 divided doses. 900-1,500 mg/day may be given based on patient's therapeutic response.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take 30 min before meals.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Perform frequent prothrombin determinations until prothrombin level is stabilized. Pregnancy.
Drug Interactions
Anticoagulants coumarin-orindandione derivative.
