Indications/Uses
Mucolytic agent for acute & chronic resp disorders (including COPD, acute exacerbations of COPD, rhinosinusitis, pharingolaryngotracheitis, acute & chronic bronchitis) associated w/ excessive mucus production in adults.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult >18 yr & elderly 1 cap bd-tds.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Active peptic ulcer. Hepatic cirrhosis & cystathionine-synthetase enzyme deficiency. Not recommended in patients w/ renal failure (CrCL <25 mL/min) or w/ severe liver failure. Childn <2 yr.
Special Precautions
Severe renal & hepatic impairment. Not recommended in pregnancy & during breast-feeding. May induce bronchial obstruction in childn <2 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Potentially, GI undesirable effects.
