Per chewable tab Al hydroxide 200 mg, Mg hydroxide 200 mg. Per 5 mL Al hydroxide 225 mg, Mg hydroxide 200 mg
Indications/Uses
Chewable tab: As antacid for the relief of gastric hyperacidity & heartburn. Oral susp: As antacid for the symptomatic relief of hyperacidity.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Chewable tab 2-4 tab qid. Oral susp 2-4 tsp (10-20 mL) to be taken qid.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Take 20 min-1 hr after meals & at bedtime. May be followed w/ milk or water.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Severe renal failure.
Special Precautions
May cause constipation & hypomotility of the bowel. May trigger or aggravate intestinal obstruction & ileus in patients at higher risk eg, w/ renal impairment, infants <2 yr & elderly. Long-term use or in patients at risk of phosphate depletion. Patients w/ porphyria undergoing hemodialysis.
Adverse Reactions
Hypersensitivity reactions eg, pruritus, urticaria, angioedema & anaphylactic reactions.
