Contents
Fe 53.25 mg (equiv to Fe fumarate 162 mg), folic acid 750 mcg, cyanocobalamin (vit B12) 7.5 mcg
Indications/Uses
Prevention & treatment of anemia due to nutritional & Fe deficiency anemia that may be due to pregnancy, lactation & menstrual blood loss.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Administration
Should be taken with food: Take after meals.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Fe: Hemochromatosis & hemosiderosis. Folic acid: Patients w/ pernicious anemia.
Special Precautions
Vit B12: Megaloblastic anemia of pregnancy.
Adverse Reactions
Nausea & vomiting, diarrhea, skin rash, precordial pain, or flushing of the face & extremities. Fe: Constipation, black & tarry stools.
Drug Interactions
Fe: Inhibited absorption w/ Mg trisilicate, antacids & ingestion of eggs or milk. Vit B12: Reduced absorption from the GIT w/ aminoglycosides, aminosalicylic acid, anticonvulsants, biguanides, chloramphenicol, cholestyramine, cimetidine, colchicine, K salts, & methyldopa. Decreased serum conc w/ OCs.
