Indications/Uses
Postmenopausal osteoporosis & osteoporosis in men.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take w/ a full glass of plain water only, at least 30 min before the 1st food/drink/medication of the day & remain in sitting/upright position for at least 30 min. Swallow whole, do not chew/crush.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Patients w/ active upper GI problems eg, dysphagia or oesophagial disease, gastritis, duodenitis or ulcers, recent history (w/in the previous yr) of major GI disease eg, peptic ulcer, active GI bleeding, or upper GI surgery other than pyloroplasty; Barett's oesophagus. Not to be used during pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Hypersensitivity reactions including urticaria & angioedema, headache, abdominal pain, dyspepsia, constipation, diarrhoea, flatulence, oesophageal ulcer, dysphagia, abdominal distension & acid regurgitation.
Drug Interactions
Food & beverages, Ca supplements, antacids & other oral medicinal products may interfere in absorption (take after at least 30 min). Caution when in concomitant w/ NSAID.
