Eperisone HCl

Indications/Uses

Improvement of myotonic conditions caused by neck-shoulder-arm syndrome, scapulohumeral periarthritis & low back pain. Spastic paralysis caused by cerebrovascular & spinal vascular disorders, spastic spinal paralysis, cervical spondylosis, post-surgical sequelae (including cerebrospinal tumor), sequelae of trauma (spinal & head injury), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, infantile cerebral palsy, spinocerebellar degeneration, subacute myelo-optico neuropathy & other encephalomyopathies.

Special Precautions

Hypersensitivity to aspirin or other NSAIDs. Acid-peptic disease, blood dyscrasias. Avoid alcohol. Co-administration w/ methocarbamol, aspirin, methotrexate, digoxin, cyclosporin, ACE inhibitors, diuretics, lithium & warfarin. May affect alertness in operating machinery or driving a car. Impaired renal or liver functions. Pregnancy. Childn. Elderly.

Adverse Reactions

Acute allergic reactions eg, redness, itching, urticaria, edema of face or other parts & dyspnea; proteinuria, BUN elevation; anemia; rash, pruritus, erythema exudativum multiforme, oculo-mucocutaneous syndrome (eg, Stevens Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis); sleepiness, insomnia, headache, numbness, stiffness & tremor in extremities; nausea, vomiting, anorexia, stomach discomfort, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, thirst, stomatitis, feeling of enlarged abdomen; urinary retention & incontinence, feeling of residual urine; weakness, lightheadedness, generalized fatigue, muscle hypotonia, dizziness; hot flushes, diaphoresis, edema.
