Indications and Dosage
Vaginal
Cervicitis, Vaginitis
Adult: As supp: Insert 1 supp deep into vagina every other day at bedtime. Treatment duration depends on severity of condition.
Special Precautions
Pregnancy and lactation. 
Adverse Reactions
Significant: Local irritation.
Reproductive system and breast disorders: Vaginal dryness, vaginal discharge.
Patient Counseling Information
Avoid sexual intercourse during and 7 days after treatment. Avoid use of irritant soap during treatment. Not recommended for use during menstruation.
Action
Description: Policresulen is an organic acid with a topical healing effect. It promotes haemostasis by enabling blood protein coagulation and allowing contraction of muscle fibres of small calibre blood vessels, and chemical debridement through interaction with devitalised plasma membrane phospholipid molecules, thus causing denaturation of cellular proteins allowing for their removal. Its acidity and coagulating properties provide antimicrobial effects against staphylococcus spp, streptococcus spp, and Candida albicans.
