Butenafine is used to treat fungal skin infections such as ringworm, jock itch, and athlete's foot.
Use this medicine exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not use more or less than instructed by your doctor.
Wash and dry your skin gently before applying Butenafine into the affected areas.
Avoid application to the eyes, mouth, and other mucous membranes such as the inside of your nose. If Butenafine accidentally gets into your eyes, flush your eyes with clean water immediately.
Do not cover, wrap or bandage the area unless instructed by your doctor.
Do not use Butenafine for anything else other than the purpose instructed by your doctor.
Apply the missed dose as soon as you remember.
DO NOT double a dose under any circumstances.
Inform your doctor if you have allergic reactions to other topical antifungals such as terbinafine and naftifine.
Let your doctor know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Butenafine may cause any of the following side effects: burning, stinging, and itching of the skin.
Inform your doctor if any of these side effects do not go away or are severe, or if you experience other side effects.
Always notify your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including herbal tonics, such as traditional Chinese medicine, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription.
Avoid alcohol.
Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children.
Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
