Indications/Uses
Oral: Erosive or ulcerative GERD, GERD maintenance, duodenal ulcers. Pathological hypersecretory conditions including Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Inj: Active duodenal & gastric ulcer w/ bleeding or severe erosions, short-term treatment of erosive or ulcerative GERD, prevention of acid-aspiration during surgery & stress-induced mucosal injury in critical care, pathological hypersecretory conditions including Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Oral Adult Erosive or ulcerative GERD 1 cap once daily for 4-8 wk. GERD maintenance 1 cap once daily. Duodenal ulcers 1 cap once daily for 4 wk. Pathological hypersecretory conditions including Zollinger-Ellison syndrome Initially 60 mg once daily. Max: 100 mg qds or 60 mg bd. Inj 1 vial once daily. Given slowly over 5-15 min. Infuse over 15-30 min.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Swallow whole, do not chew/crush/open.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to rabeprazole & substituted benzimidazoles.
Special Precautions
Exclude gastric malignancy prior to treatment. Severe hepatic impairment. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Malaise, diarrhea, nausea, skin eruptions, headache & dizziness. Increased hepatic enzymes, LDH, BUN.
