Contents
Ascorbic acid 100 mg, Na ascorbate 450 mg (equiv to ascorbic acid 400 mg), Zn oxide 18.67 mg (equiv to Zn 15 mg)
Indications/Uses
Vit C & Zn deficiency & increased requirement.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult Recommended daily dose: 1 chewable tab daily. Severe avitaminosis & infectious disease 1 tab bd for 5-7 days.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Chew tab & take w/ enough water.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Thrombophlebitis; inclination to thrombosis; diabetes. Childn <18 yr.
Special Precautions
Do not exceed recommended daily dose. Not for non-dietary vit-C deficiency causes. Prolonged therapy. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Mild transient multivit/mineral GI disturbances. May cause haemolytic anaemia in individuals w/ G6PD deficiency.
Drug Interactions
Increased blood conc of salicylates, ethinylestradiol, benzylpenicillin & tetracyclines. Decreased blood conc of OCs. Reduced anticoagulation effect of coumarin derivatives. Improved Fe absorption. Increased clearance of ethyl alcohol. Decreased reserve w/ quinolones, CaCl2, salicylate, corticosteroid. Reduced levels w/ corticosteroids (cortisone & prednisolone). Enhanced tissue toxicity of Fe w/ deferoxamine inj. High doses of vit C inhibited disulfiram-alcohol reaction. Decreased efficacy of TCAs.
